Snowshoeing on Mt. Seymour

Yesterday on a spur of the moment (or at least as spur of the moment one can be with a six month old) I went snowshoeing on Mount Seymour with friends. It was a gorgeous day for it. I managed to bring my camera and take a few pictures along the way, which was awesome… it helped that someone offered to carry Lyra for me, which meant I didn’t get too slowed down by the Happy Trails pack we put her in.

There was so much snow up there. We found a trail marker post mostly buried in snow – just the top part with the trail names was visible, and that only because someone had cleared the snow from around it. Normally those are about 4 or 5 feet tall or so.

Lyra enjoyed it while she was awake, but fell asleep pretty quickly, and spent most of the trip softly snoring. It was really nice to get out of the house finally (I was starting to get stir crazy) and especially nice to do so in the mountains and forest. I must go out snowshoeing more.
