We’ve finally ordered our highspeed internet. That means I’m just short of a year of being withouth highspeed. Craziness. Although I’m sharing Adam’s computer, since mine died a few months back and we can’t get a new one for a while. At any rate, I’ll have proper internet again very soon. It makes me happy.
Also, I have all my negatives with me now, which means if anyone wants me to make them prints (the only people I remember asking me about it are lowkey and Paul,) please let me know and I’ll get on them quickly. I’m still finishing scanning the canoe trip photos (because I’m slow this time around) but I’m getting through it bit by bit.
I’ve been trying to figure out if I can afford to go visit my little brother in the hospital next week. It being Christmas, it’s hard to find the extra money for it. We can get a ride out to Ottawa on Sunday evening, but getting back will cost us anywhere from 60-150$ depending on when we buy tickets and how we travel. And of course we’d have to be back in time to go to work on Tuesday evening, which means being downtown by 6:00pm. Sometimes the ability to rent a car would come in very, very handy. But that’s not really an option, so I’ll move on.
Not much is new. I’ve sort of given up on seeing people who haven’t made efforts to see me. My schedule never changes and is pretty limited, so if people aren’t willing to work with me on it, then there’s nothing much I can do, so I’m not going to worry myself over it anymore.
I’m completely looking forward to Christmas now. We got my tree and decorations and stuff brought down, and while I know I’m working psychotic hours over the holidays, at least I have Christmas Day and half of boxing day off. My intention is to make a fantastic turkey etc. dinner and have Adam’s parents and brother here for my kind of Christmas – I think they don’t know what they’re in for, yet. Oh, the Christmas plans I have!!! It’s nice to be excited about it for a change… it’s been a while.
