we’re both writers – we both have cams…
why not pick a sunday now and then and have a “write-off” of sorts? not a competition – but a challenge to make us both write a lot!

i’m so glad that you were in the article too. that makes it way cooler somehow 🙂

guess i’d better call my mom and tell her to pick one up…

Hehe… yeah, mom’s like to know that sort of stuff. 😉 Write-off sounds kinda neat… must figure out the logistics of that… 😉

        Re: idea!

I can’t remember if I mentioned this when I saw you in RDU, Jen…

My friend Eden and I have been knocking around an idea of doing a variation on the old French game of ‘corps esquisite” (I know I mangled the spelling) — the Existentialist writers used to play this game, in which one person would write three senteces, then cover the first two and pass the last to the next person. My idea was inspired by Art Speigleman’s cartooning project based on the same game (three panels, only the last to the next cartoonist). My idea: three paragraphs, only the last goes to the next person. Eden and I have talked about doing it, and have gathered an informal listr of people who may want to be involved. Would you two like to do it, if we ever get it off the ground and come up with some ground rules and so forth?

Not just you two, but anyone else?

That sounds a lot like something I’m doing with Mental Fragments – the Campfire area… like telling stories, picking up where someone left off… that idea of blocking the first paragraph would be neat too… damn. I’d try that, at least.

            Re: idea!

Oh yeah, I’ve done the continuing story thing for years on BBSes. This is the same idea, yes, with the twist that none of the writers know anything that’s gone before, except for that last paragraph.

I’m thinking in this case, someone, me or Eden, would have to be the Keeper of the Story. All paragraphs are sent back to the Keeper, who is also the only person who has the list of participants and in what order they will receive their piece. This will prevent anyone from writing *for* anyone specific.

I’ve been compsing rules for this in my mind for two years. I shouild write them down and get with Eden on it.
